Challenges

Client wanted a plug and play kitchen and bathroom module to integrate into traditionally built apartments. Meet French norms and regulations (Fire, acoustic, electrical, handicap etc.). Source compliant products. High quality, trendy and durable finishes on moderate budget.

Solution

Custom built 20' container sized modules, fully prefabricated and equipped in XCUBE’s factory (Plumbing, electrical, ventilation, appliances, LED lighting). Ships as 20' standard container. Fully insulated, poured concrete acoustic floor slab, full body ceramic wall and floor tiles throughout. Piano lacquer kitchen cabinets. This kitchen, bathroom and technical module, enabled the client to build a prototype 2 story, duplex apartment building from start to finish in 3 weeks. Modules were completely fitted out in China prior to shipping, including testing wiring harness, and pressure testing water and waste water lines. Modules include prewired electrical harness for the entire apartment, pre connected to the breaker panel.
